Can't beat the view up there!
I grew up in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan on the most beautiful and appropriately named Lake in the world, Superior. I spent a year at Grand Valley State University following high school, but transferred back home to Northern Michigan University in Marquette to complete my teaching degree. While in college at NMU I met my beautiful wife. We were married in 2001 and I received my bachelors degree in May 2003.
Swartz Creek hired me in August of 2004 and I have been at the middle school ever since. During my time here I’ve mainly taught 8th grade U.S. History, though I spent one year down in 7th grade teaching Geography. I spent my first 3 years here as the yearbook adviser, and have had a break from that for the past two years. I resume the 2009 school year as the yearbook adviser once more….should be an adventure.
I’ve coached boys basketball for 2 seasons, track for 3 seasons, and this fall I will be coaching cross country….also an adventure
. The past two years have
been quite busy. We’ve been blessed with two daughters separated by 18 months. Both girls are absolutely amazing – and they are keeping me on my toes. In August of 2008 I earned my
masters degree in Educational Leadership, and I will be taking a year or two off before resuming my education (whew). I’m looking forward to my 6th year here in the Creek. – Go Dragons!!
