U.S. History:

Today we watched  a large portion of the final episodes of Into the West.  We’ll finish this up on Monday and discuss some of themes of American Movement west.

Please remember to bring your home copy of your textbook on Monday!!  We need to get those collected.

U.S. History: Today we finished up a short section of Into the West.  We then discussed the Ku Klux Klan, corrected the Building Vocabulary worksheet, and then students were given time to work on their homework.

Homework: Complete Review Questions 1-10 on p. 550

Digital Productions: Today we completed the sorting of the Yearbooks.  Monday they will be given out to the team teachers for distribution.

Today we watched another 45 minute portion of Into the west.

Homework:  None

Digital Productions:

First day of sorting Yearbooks!  We should have this done by tomorrow and we’ll be able to get them distributed early next week as planned.

U.S. History:

Today Students Began the portion of our Into the West Series that shows the completion of the Trans-Contiental Railroad.  This took place in the late 1860′s and Early 1870s, which is right in line with the time period in which Reconstruction took place.

U.S. History:

Today we reviewed for the Civil War test which will be on Monday.  Students worked on their 16 & 17 Study Guide as we discussed the topics on them.

U.S. History:

today, we finished the question sheets from the video “April 1865″.

We then read the final section of Chapter 17 together and students were given time in class to complete the 17-4 Assessment questions.

I also passed out a study guide for the test which will be due on Monday.  We will also be having a test on Monday so students will need to be studied up over the weekend.  We will have a full test review tomorrow in class.

Today we watched the rest of “April 1865.”  Tomorrow we will be going over the movie questions in class

U.S. History:

Today we Read about the battle of Gettysburg, which many historians argue was the turning point of the Civil War.  We will be reading Section 17-3 in our textbooks and viewing the battlefield graphic at the end of that section to get the students acclimated to certain references in the reading and the video clip we’ll be watching from the Movie “Gettysburg.”

Homework: Complete the 17-3 Section assessment (class time will be given for at least part of this assignment)

Continue work on expectation videos.

U.S. History:

Today we went over the questions from the movie “Glory” which we watched yesterday.  We also watched the remainder of Lincoln’s Presidency Documentary.  There was no Homework assigned today.

Digital Productions:

We are slowly completing expectation videos.  Students are taking turns filming their productions and editing them on the computers.
